Mission: Making disciples by worshiping God, loving people, and teaching the bible.
In Matthew 28:19-20 Jesus Christ commanded His disciples to "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." (ESV)
We firmly believe that this is the mission of the church. The kindest and best way that we can love the world is to share what we have already received, the love of Jesus Christ with the whole world.
The foundation of all our ministries at Franconia Baptist Church is making disciples. As the phrase implies making disciples is a process that include a number of different steps. It starts by participating in Christ's call to spread the Gospel, but it does not stop there. Our Lord also commanded us to teach these disciples to observe all that He has commanded us to do.
One of God’s great desires for our lives is that we grow in Christ-like character. In fact, God calls us to be conformed into the image of Jesus Christ as we follow His glorious example (Romans 8:28-29, 12:1-2, Ephesians 4:15-16). We grow in biblical virtues through personal dependence on Christ and relational interdependence with one-another in His body. Franconia Baptist is committed to being a church where people are instructed in Christlikeness as seen in the Word of God as well as being a biblical community where we can grow in spiritual maturity with one another.
