Our human nature wants to drive us to create prideful monuments to self and justify it in the name of God. The only monument that God wants to receive is glory for Himself. Our whole lives, from the moment that we get up in the morning until the moment that we finally fall asleep, are supposed to be God-centered, not self-centered.
