Mishandling God's Blessings

Scripture: Genesis 29:31–30:24

It's easy to begin to mishandle the blessings of God in our lives, and yet there is biblical truth in the statement that our mishandling of God's blessings does not keep God from blessing us or subvert God's plan for our lives.

This study in the book of Genesis deals with the account of the birth of Jacob’s sons who go on to become the forefathers of the twelve tribes of Israel.  The joy of the birth of Jacob’s children is clouded by the twisted events surrounding the conceptions.  God’s blessings in this story are clearly God’s blessing, but at the same time we see those blessings being mishandled by Jacob, Rachel, and Leah providing us with a cautionary tale.

The lesson for us is to be careful not to mishandle God's blessings.
