In this chapter of the story of the rebuilding of the City of God, it was brought to Nehemiah's attention that the people were indenturing their children, their flocks and fields and vineyards to have enough to eat; their fellow Jews were exacting the interest rather than seeing them as fellow children of God and treating them as such.
