Nehemiah 13:4-14 "Always Reforming"

December 1, 2013

Scripture: Nehemiah 13:4–13:14

Are you on auto-pilot?  Do you find yourself giving into temptation to please others or maybe even to curry favor?  That's what happened in Jerusalem while Nehemiah was gone.  He returned to find rooms in the temple desecrated; he dealt with their sin in a righteous manner and he then put trustworthy people in place (we need to surround ourselves with the same kind of people).  Then he prayed for a lasting impact of the good works that had been done.  We need to always reform our actions, being diligent in recognizing the sin in our life and doing our best to weed it out.  Immersing ourselves in activities that bring glory to God is paramount.
